Fantastic Planet is a free MajorMUD PlatformSome Fantastic Planet HistoryOnline since 1994, Fantastic Planet BBs started out as a free Entertainment and Chat board with 4 lines. FP experienced rapid expansion and soon became a "Pay for Play" system, adding 900 access, Online Checking and Credit card acceptance. During the height of the large phone line based Multi-user BBS's, Fantastic Planet had 38 Dial-in Phone lines, All full! Games like Crossroads, Tradewars, Blademaster, Farwest Trivia and the Chat Rooms were all very popular and active. Right around this time AOL went to their $20.00 flat rate and made browsing the internet cheap, much to the chagrin of the Internet community. The BBs community was starting to wane as internet chat and IM became popular. So Fantastic Planet brought MajorMUD to South Florida and all other South Florida boards were soon to follow. Today, as far as I know, Fantastic Planet is the only major surviving BBS in South Florida. MajorMud is now the main attraction and all modules are online.
